Emotion and Inspiration.

@Jauvonnie

The characters in the book The complete Persepolis are going through a revolution and war. Marji has mad many influences through the course of the story I have read so far. One of the first people who influenced her was God himself. That was evident when she said she would like to be a prophet when she grows up. Another example would be the revolutionaries that helped the cause such as Dr. Femi and H. Ashraf. Marji is also inspired by the people in the books she reads such as Marx. Most of all Marji gets inspired by her friends and family. The people in her friends and family are true heroes to her. Her mother and father were revolutionary figures known to protest. Her uncles were true were direct targets of the Shanh army and were taken in jail. Marjis friend Pardisse's father died protecting his country. In a sense everyone fighting the revolution is a hero to her.

Many people inspire me. It is hard to say who exactly does this. Most artist inspire me with there work. Political poeple such as Barack Obama also inspire me to try harder though I have issues with that Most of all the people of the civil rights movement inspire me because like Marjane my people too have fought for our rights and the right to decide our way of life and for equality. Like Marjane I hold these stories close to me and they serve as a guiding inspiration in my everyday life.

@Maddy

Death in The complete Persepolis is almost on every page as they are fighting a revolutionary war for there rights. For some poeple the death and suffering around them as caused them to submit to the fundametalist movement. For people like Marji's parents it has caused them to want to protest even more. In a sense the deaths to many characters in the book serves as they drive to change. Many people are labelled as martyrs, people who died for there right to be equal. For Marji the death throught he first few chapters was just the same as everyone else a driving force. As soon as the death hit home Marji's attitude changed. When Marji's uncle Anoosh is taken to jail she does not take well to it. When her uncle is later executed her frustration causes her to lose her closeness to the person she is the closest with God. In the end so far I believe death has done good and bad to her. The deaths have strengthed most characters but for Marji it made her lose her closeness to god but it strengthed her as well.

I do not handle negative things well, then again it depends on the situation. Death does not do me justice. When I hear about it I usually hold in emotions for some time until I can not handle it. Anger is very easily my weak point. I see anger as a negative emotion and I would sya it gets the best of me everytime. I think my handling of negative emotions is one reason why I lack motivation because I get overwhelmed by other things that I lose track. The main point of my failing and losining motiviation is to my worrying and negative emotions caused my how I feel about the certain subject. As for right now I am working on it and I will not be defined by my negative emotions.
