Day 8 Keke
Choices are awaited mistakes or greatness in the making, you have to choose one. Some choices are blatant and it all comes down to what’s the safe pick, which one can hurt you but you will not feel the hurt if you fail. At an early age I had the opportunity to either go to Kenwood or Simeon. Academics or sports. Great neighborhood or “Fun” neighborhood. This decision was just to hard to make my future was literally in my hands at the age of fourteen. I was great at baseball and if I chose Simeon I would probally get drafted early but if I went to Kenwood I could get into a great college for sure. I got to point where I just didn’t care anymore. I flipped a coin and heads it was. I was going to pursue my dream of being the next Sammy Sosa luckily I came nowhere near that comparison. Also at the same time the decision was the worst one ever. I was struck with brass knuckles by a rival gang member and was out for six months. When I tried to play again it didn’t come back to me. So I stopped playing forever. This was disappointing I wanted to go to Kenwood so bad now but it was too late. Do to my bad grades they wouldn’t transfer me.
In Persepolis families were leaving at the height of the war as quickly as they could. People were leaving left and right. This would eventually leave her house hold to make a decision to stay or leave. They decided that they would stay and stick it out. Tough decisions are made constantly you just have to ask yourself the right questions before making it.
