The characters in True Notebooks don't exactly experience negativity from the cloths they wear because they all wear the same thing, orange jumpsuits. But I think the way they carry themselves and behave draws attention in negative ways though from their peers and the staff at juvenile hall.
I remember last summer going to visit my grandma, and feeling completely out of place.. I love my grandma to death but her husband ken is an ass. They are pretty old fashioned, so when I showed up on her door step with dyed hair, a nose ring and a fresh tattoo, ken went off on me about being "lady-like" and how the way I dressed and looked wasnt appropriate. I just told him to fuck off because he isn't my blood and he had no right to judge and critisize me the way he was. That was the only time I can remember feeling looked down upon for my apperiance but I stood up for myself, and that was the end of that.

The boys in true notebooks have let their self doubt and influences effect them their entire lives. They grew up around negitivaty and hate and let that take a hold over them, these influences where so strong in their minds that they got sent to prison because them. I think growing up I was always more the influencer than the influenced.. All the stupid decisions I made were my own, they were my ideas from the get-go. I was very compulsive growing up, I did things without thinking about the consiquences. This did cross with my better judgement at times, but it was only after the fact that it occured to me I probably shouldn't have done what I just did. Usually when I got busted for it.
