Life is tough. Its hard and its full of challenges. Those challenges become easier if we have people we can rely on to help us through them. They help us and encourage us to carry on, despite what is going on. When we struggle, they go out of our way to try and make our lives a little easier. For me, I have several people like that. My mom always was one of those people who would encourage me to strive for the best. More recently though, one of the pastors at my church has really stepped out of his way to help me out and I really appreciate that. I'm not quite sure why these people care enough to want to help me, but I thank God every day for them. In true notebooks, mark always goes that extra step to make the inmates more comfortable and encourages them to openness, but Francisco also has taken on that role. Jimmy was feeling a little reluctant to read and Francisco stepped up and said "whats said in this room stays in this room". I would imagine the reason for that would be that he doesn't want Mark to leave, because that would end his outlet of stress and whats on his mind, but I could be wrong.

Terri
One of my worst fears is being completely alone. I'm talking about absolutely no one there for you. That is scary to me because God is always with me, no matter what and if he wasn't, my whole life would be in vain. There were times where I have felt a taste of truly alone, back in elementary school, when i had no friends at all. That was one of the worst times in my life and I never want to feel that way again. In true notebooks, Jimmy feels abandoned by God, because of all of the suffering that his family is going through. I understand how he feels because my family is just comming out of that so I know how that is.
